The mission of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, a non-profit organization, is to increase awareness amongst the people of the Cayman Islands of cancer as a major health concern, to initiate positive change in all areas relating to cancer, to prevent the development of cancer and to counsel and support cancer patients and their families.
Our vision foresees a reduction in the incidence of cancer cases and an improvement in the quality of life of all those touched by cancer in the Cayman Islands through focusing on education and prevention programmes for children and adults, providing financial and counseling support to cancer patients and their families, facilitating a cancer survivor's network, reviewing matters of interest to the Society and initiating and lobbying for relevant changes through legislation and other means and enhancing cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment services.
Who we are:
Scott Elliott
Scott was first elected to the Board as Vice-Chairman in March 2004. Scott is employed by RE/MAX Cayman Islands and has been providing pro bono legal advice to the Society. He was instrumental in redrafting our Articles of Association. Scott became Chairman of the Society in May 2008.
Dr Sook Yin
Dr. Sook Yin has been on the CICS Board since 2002 as Medical Director in which capacity she oversees the Society's education programs and she helped develop our education Strategic Plan. She has her own private medical practice.
Brett Hill
Brett was appointed to the Board as Treasurer in 2004. Brett is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank (Cayman) Ltd. He brings his financial expertise to the Board.
