About Stride Against Cancer
There is a choice of two courses – the “long course” which is a half marathon distance (13.1 miles) or a “short course” (6.5 miles).
The Long Course
The long course begins at 6:00 AM. It is an out and back course with the event starting and ending at the Public Beach on West Bay Road. The course goes along West Bay Road, through George Town and along South Church Street paralleling the coastline. Caribbean Paradise on South Sound Road is the turn around point. Participants are encouraged to start at the official start time as aid stations will not be in operation before this time. The course will officially close at 9:30 am and aid stations will close at this time.
The Short Course
The short course begins at 7:00 AM. It is an out and back course with the event starting and ending at the Public Beach on West Bay Road. The course goes along West Bay Road with The Wharf Restaurant as the turn around point. All participants should start at the official start time. The course will officially close at 9:30 am and aid stations will close at this time.
All participants are invited to enjoy refreshments after the event and to stay for the spot prize drawing at 9:30 am. You must be present in order to win!
Regulations
Please note that children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the day of the event.
In the interest of safety pets are not allowed on the course. Rollerblades and bicycles are also not allowed on the course.
North Side Event
A group of residents in the Eastern Districts have organized a 6.5 mile walk in North Side at 7am on Sunday, 29th January. The walk will begin at the Boat Launch beside Over The Edge Restaurant and go to the Kaibo. Transportation back to the Boat Launch will be provided.
