Paola started learning Mandarin basics, as she enjoys conversing with Locals during her cultural trips.

She speaks a little bit of French, a little bit of Italian, a little bit of Japanese.

Paola is fluent in Spanish and English.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

South Africa – project based.

In countries like South Africa, girls and women don’t have access to the sanitary products they need each month. Period poverty in South Africa affects girls and women by preventing them from going to school – and from working.

Do you have a nickname?

“Mrs. Robinson” which always comes with the song!

“Pauis” from Spanish speaking family and friends back home.

Those who know me well, call me by my initial – simply “P”.

What do you enjoy most about your work at CICS?

The impact we can bring to the community as a team, as an Organisation. Every second we work towards our cause, could help save a life.

What's something people might not know about you?

Love country music! 

I listen to the local radio on the morning drive and on my drive home!

What brings you joy?

Helping people and connecting people.

What do you really dislike?

When people take advantage of other individuals.

I would go to Greece with my husband Chris. Chris is always excited to go anywhere, anytime!

The diversity of the people I get to meet and help. It’s like the UN in here.

What's something people might not know about you?

I am introverted but I like to make jokes.

What brings you joy?

A good conversation.

What do you really dislike?

Pretentious people. I like humble and approachable people.

The day I finished all my cancer treatment.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Anywhere in Europe. I would love to see all the museums, and learn more about architecture and history.

What do you enjoy most about your work at CICS?

Helping people get what they need. It’s a good feeling to help others.

What's something people might not know about you?

I am an extroverted, people person who always becomes the spokesperson for the group. Any group!

What brings you joy?

Chocolate! Give me chocolate and you’re my friend for life.

What do you really dislike?

Hypocrisy. Can’t stand 2-faced people.

Another African safari. It’s magical to be out in nature with all the animals I love.

The beach, sunshine, my husband George and my dogs.

People who think they are better than others.
